These terms govern your use of highpointadvisoryservices.com (the “Site”), operated by Highpoint Advisory Services Inc. (“Highpoint,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a certified public accounting and advisory firm based in Schaumburg, Illinois. By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
No professional advice
The content on this Site is general information about accounting, tax, bookkeeping and advisory topics affecting construction businesses. It is not accounting, tax, legal or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for advice about your specific situation. Tax law, licensing requirements, insurance practice and accounting standards change, and how they apply depends on facts we do not know from a website visit.
Do not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything you read here without first speaking with a qualified professional about your circumstances.
No client relationship
Using the Site, reading our articles, downloading a resource, or sending us a message through a form or by email does not create a client relationship with Highpoint. We become your accountants only when both of us have signed an engagement letter describing the services, the fees and the responsibilities of each party.
Until an engagement letter is signed, we have no obligation to perform work for you, to meet any deadline on your behalf, or to keep watch over filings, notices or dates that affect you.
Confidential information sent before an engagement
Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the Site before an engagement letter is in place. Information sent to us before we are engaged may not be treated as confidential and may not create any duty on our part. If we need documents from you, we will send you a secure way to deliver them.
Use of the site
You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

QuickBooks and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification only.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Highpoint and its owners, employees and contractors from any claim, loss, liability or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your misuse of the Site or your violation of these terms or of applicable law.
Communications
By providing your email address or telephone number, you agree that we may contact you in response to your inquiry. If you subscribe to our updates, you may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message. Email and text messages are not secure methods of sending confidential information.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Site or these terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Professional licensing
Highpoint Advisory Services Inc. is a certified public accounting firm licensed and registered in the State of Illinois and regulated by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Services are offered where the firm is licensed to practice. Nothing on the Site is an offer to perform services in a jurisdiction where the firm is not permitted to do so.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms at any time. The effective date at the top of the page shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
